The woman shook her head. “No, you haven’t. I saw you arrive just two minutes ago.”Daniel became annoyed. “That’s not true. Why are you arguing with me?”“I’m not arguing,” the woman replied. “I’m just telling you to respect other people.”
A few people nearby started watching them. Daniel crossed his arms and said, “I respect everyone, but I don’t think you have the right to tell me where to stand.”The woman became angry. “Young people today have no respect!”Daniel answered, “And some older people think they are always right!”
For a moment, nobody said anything. Then a man standing behind them laughed quietly.“Maybe you are both right,” he said. “But if you keep arguing, you might miss the bus.”Just then, the bus arrived. Everyone quickly moved toward the door. Daniel looked at the woman and smiled.
“You go first,” he said.The woman looked surprised. Then she smiled back and said, “Thank you. And I’m sorry for shouting at you.”“I’m sorry too,” Daniel replied.
